Fall 2025 thru Winter 2027 Course: JOHN

This fall we will begin a 2-year study of  The Gospel of St. John. We invite you to join us to study this most beautiful of Gospels.

The four evangelists are each identified with a specific animal as a symbol of their Gospel message.  Fittingly, St. John’s symbol is the eagle, as his Gospel soars to heaven’s heights in its presentation of the divine identity and mission of Jesus. In our study, we will delve into St. John’s revelation of God as a family, and our relation to God through grace. We will recognize Jesus’ divinity in the seven ‘signs’ highlighted in the book, but also in the glory of his passion, death, and resurrection.  The theme of Divine Love saturates every page.  This Gospel is rich in symbolism, sacramental imagery, Mariology, fulfillment of Old Testament feasts and sacrifices, and profound theology.  We rightly expect our study of St. John’s Gospel to lead us all to greater faith, hope and love.

We will use the CSS/Tan Books Study.  Dr. Scott Hahn and Mark Shea are the writers of the commentary and Fr. Patrick Winslow is the video lecturer.

In this powerful 28-session study, with seven sessions a semester, author Steve Ray and presenter Fr. Kauth will help you uncover what you need to know about this crucial first book of the Bible.

Genesis is the first key to unlocking the chest that enables us to understand the Bible as the Universal Church always has. To find the priceless gems inside, we need a good roadmap to learn how the 50 chapters fit together and fit with the rest of the entire Bible.

Participants will meet every week (with a week off every third Wednesday of the month) for a lively group discussion and fellowship. The viewing of the video is done at home either before or after our discussions. We will begin the Genesis study on THURSDAY, September 14th.
